Android TV has no system Recycle Bin. When you delete a file with a normal file manager it is gone, and there is no reliable way to get it back afterwards. The best protection is to make deletion reversible before you need it.

Files already deleted

If a file was deleted by another app, check whether that app has its own trash. Otherwise recovery needs specialist tools, mostly on a computer with the drive attached, and success is not guaranteed.

Make future deletes reversible

Trunk has a Recycle Bin. When you delete a file from the Large files screen, it moves into a hidden folder on the same drive. Nothing is removed until you choose to empty the bin, and nothing is deleted automatically.

To restore a file:

  1. Open Recycle Bin from the Trunk home screen.
  2. Select the file.
  3. Choose Restore. It returns to its original folder, which Trunk recreates if you removed it.

Only files deleted through Trunk go in its bin. It cannot recover files deleted by other apps or before you installed it.
